Fountain Valley homicide suspect arrested after pursuit that ended in Azusa

At least one of the two people arrested after a police pursuit that ended in Azusa on Tuesday morning, Aug. 3, was wanted by Fountain Valley police in connection with a homicide, authorities said.

Fountain Valley police had requested help from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in serving a homicide search warrant in L.A. County, but when deputies found the suspect’s car and attempted to pull it over, the driver fled and deputies initiated the pursuit, Fountain Valley Police Sgt. Donald Farmer said.

The driver pulled over about 6:20 a.m. along Foothill Boulevard near San Gabriel Avenue and the two occupants, a woman in the driver’s seat and a man in the front passenger seat, got out and surrendered to authorities.

The suspects were booked into jail at the Sheriff’s Department’s Walnut Station, authorities said.

Fountain Valley police did not immediately disclose information about the homicide in which the suspect was believed to be involved. Police also did not disclose where, specifically, the search warrant was served.
