A woman died after police say she crashed into her boyfriend’s car, causing a collision in Orange following an argument at their Anaheim home early Saturday morning, May 7.
The crash occurred at East Santa Ana Canyon Road at North Orange Olive Road just after 5:45 a.m., Orange police spokesman Sgt. Phil McMullin said.
The couple had argued at their home in the 400 block of North Tustin Avenue before the man got into his car and drove westbound on Santa Ana Canyon, McMullin said. Shortly after, the woman followed in her car.
As they approached Orange Olive, the woman rear-ended the man’s car where the roadway makes a right turn before the intersection. The woman’s car hit a raised median, causing it to roll over, and she was ejected, McMullin said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The man suffered minor injuries. He told police he believed the woman intentionally rammed his car.
The couple had a child together, but the toddler was not in either car when the crash occurred, McMullin said.
Orange Olive Road was closed between Riverdale Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, while Santa Ana Canyon Road was closed between Orange Olive and Ramona Street until at least 2:30 p.m., police said.
