SUV sought in Laguna Niguel hit-and-run

A woman was critically injured when she was hit by a crossover SUV in Laguna Niguel early Saturday morning, July 9, and sheriff’s officials are asking for the public’s help in locating the SUV and its driver, authorities said.

The woman was hit along Crown Valley Parkway between Golden Lantern and Nueva Vista just after 1:30 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Carrie Braun said. The driver did not stop to render aid.

The woman was in the six-lane roadway, but not in a crosswalk, when she was hit, Braun said.

Investigators said they believe the vehicle involved was a dark-colored 2014 to 2018 Subaru Forester with damage to the front right side and side-view mirror, Braun said. The SUV was believed to have continued westbound on Crown Valley Parkway toward Pacific Coast Highway following the collision.

Officials ask anyone with information about the crash or the SUV to contact dispatch at 714-647-7000. Anonymous tips can be made by calling OC Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS (847-6227).
