A small demonstration was held in Laguna Beach on Sunday to mark the death in Minneapolis of George Floyd.
A little more than a dozen protesters gathered in front of Main Beach Park in Laguna Beach.
No police were present and a constant stream of drivers honked their support.
Olando Edie, who held a sign reading “This is where we are but this isn’t where we’ll be,” said he was heartened by the reaction of beachgoers.
“It’s reassuring man, for the future,” Edie said. “It reinvigorates my faith in humanity.”
Some other signs read “Stop racism to make America great again,” “Black Lives Matter,” “Justice for George Floyd” and “I can’t breathe — George Floyd.”
