A custom contemporary-style mansion on the market for $48.9 million in Laguna Niguel’s Bear Brand Ranch also is now a rental.

Dubbed “Oceans 13,” the monthly rent for this six-bedroom, 14,500-square-foot home with 10 bathrooms is $250,000.

The property designed in collaboration with the current owners is a showcase of modern art and architecture — and then there are the vistas. It boasts unobstructed ocean and mountain views from almost every room atop its more than 13-acre perch.

You can even see Mission San Juan Capistrano from the primary bedroom, retired tech entrepreneur Gary Dinkin told the Southern California News Group in February when his home hit the market for $50 million.

The price dropped in July by 2% to its current ask, where it remains.

That Dinkin and his wife, Lindy, decided to rent the property is “fairly common” among luxury homes locally, said co-listing agent John Stanaland of Villa Real Estate. “Keep in mind the super high-end (takes) anywhere from six to 12 or 18 months to sell.”

Tucked behind a custom stainless steel and glass gate, the mansion sits at the end of a 500-foot-long driveway with a circular motor court adorned by the large-scale abstract work of local sculptor Jon Seeman.

The porte-cochere, pierced by three angled columns, covers the walkway to the 18-foot wide iron and laminated glass pivot door that Lindy Dinkin designed. The entry door opens into a 27-foot grand entry illuminated by 20 giant skylights.

Inside the home’s furnished, art-filled spaces are fitted with one-of-a-kind design elements and polished and honed limestone floors. Oversized Fleetwood windows and doors blur the line between indoors and out, from the primary suite to the oceanview game room that contains an indoor-outdoor wet bar.

Other luxury amenities include a gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a steam and infrared sauna, and a gym. There’s also a tasting room.

The outdoors feature a barbecue kitchen and dining area, two putting greens, and a negative edge pool with a Baja shelf. It has a spa and a glass bridge to a central fire pit area with seating for 25.

Stanaland shares the listing with lead agents Joshua Altman, Matt Altman and Andy Stavros of Douglas Elliman.
