Real estate news: CRB expands to sleek, open workspace in Irvine

The engineering and architecture firm CRB has doubled its office space, moving from Tustin to a 10,000-square-foot workspace in Irvine.

The firm, which works with life sciences and food and beverage clients, previously leased a 5,400-square-foot space at 14661 Franklin Ave. in Tustin.

The new office at 200 Commerce has expanded desk space to 40 from 25, added conference spaces, a training room and upgraded audio-visual tech. A centerpiece called “The Grove” includes a large cafe and meeting areas with outdoor access.

CRB is leasing from Irvine Co.

The company’s 30 employees in the Irvine office work with myriad biopharma manufacturing clients, ranging from startups to established companies, according to CRB.

Ramser to reinvest Long Beach property sale proceeds

Ramser Development Co. in Newport Beach has sold a two-building retail property in Long Beach for $6,250,000.

The buyer was not identified.

The property at 5117 Atlantic Ave. has two free-standing buildings with a combined nearly 22,000 square feet of rentable space leased to Dollar Tree and Family Dollar Inc.

Ramser Development said it plans to use proceeds from the sale into its core business, developing and operating recreational vehicle and boat storage facilities.

New hires at Kidder Mathews

Kidder Mathews has made two key hires in recent weeks in its Orange County office.

Michelle Schierberl joined the Irvine office as senior vice president, specializing in retail investment properties throughout Southern California. She has 25 years of experience focusing on the sale of retail shopping centers and land development projects, with $3 billion dollars in transaction volume. Previously, Schierberl was with Stream Realty Partners in Irvine and before that she was with Colliers International and Grubb & Ellis.

Joseph Kim joined the office as an SVP specializing in retail properties. He has 15 years of experience in commercial real estate and previously was vice president at SVN Vanguard in Santa Ana.

System Pavers’ hiring continues

Brent Schaefer is the new chief growth officer at Santa Ana-based System Pavers, an outdoor living design and installation company.

His role will involve growing the company and helping it enter new markets efficiently. Schaefer previously served as a senior investment professional at Houlihan Lokey and Morgan Stanley.

The company recently hired Chris Reid as its creative director.
