Pedestrian killed in Anaheim crash

A sedan fatally struck a pedestrian in Anaheim early Saturday, Oct. 17.

A Honda civic headed south on Beach Boulevard collided with a man near Stonybrook Drive at about 2 a.m., Anaheim Police Sgt. Shane Carringer said.

The pedestrian was hit outside of a crosswalk and died at the scene.

“It appears from initial reports that he sort of darted out into the street,” Carringer said.

The driver of the Civic was a man in his early 20s, Carringer said. He initially drove away, but returned minutes later as traffic investigators arrived at the intersection and was cooperative with police.

Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. No arrests were announced in connection with the collision.
