Palm Springs getting 70 midcentury modern pool homes priced from $700,000

Newport Beach-based Christopher Homes is launching sales of a 70-home neighborhood in Palm Springs with prices starting around $700,000.

Aura is a new community at Miralon, a growing “agrihood” developed by Freehold Communities. Aura’s single-story homes will range from 1,894 to 2,210 square feet in living space and have three bedrooms, up to four bathrooms, a backyard pool/spa, ceilings as high as 16 feet and two-car garages.

Aura’s design, Christopher Homes says, will be “sleek, clean lines, bright, open living areas and expansive glass walls – all echoing the iconic midcentury modern architectural heritage of Palm Springs.”

Freehold’s Miralon will have 1,150 residences on 309 acres of what was once a golf course. The project includes a working 7,000-tree olive grove. Miralon is also the site of Flair by Woodbridge Pacific Group, which sold out its first three phases.

“It is exciting to see the new designs of Aura at Miralon,” said Freehold California Division President Brad Shuckhart. “These new residences reflect Miralon’s enhancement of the Palm Springs lifestyle: Sleek and comfortable architecture, advanced technology and inspiring desert views.”

Riverside County builders sold 5,819 homes in the 12 months ended in October, according to DQNews/CoreLogic. That’s 1.1% below the previous year’s building pace.
