NorCal versus SoCal: Here’s how the regional rivalry looks in several categories

With two California teams in the NFC Championship Sunday, Jan. 30, here’s a nonfootball look at the regions in the rivalry.

According to the Texas A&M Transportation Institute’s 2021 Urban Mobility Report, the Golden State is home to two of the worst traffic cities in the U.S. Los Angeles and San Francisco are tied in the fourth spot.Los Angeles and San Francisco drivers had annual delays of 46 hours due to congestion. The cities differ when it comes to excess fuel consumption, with Los Angeles commuters using 14 gallons more and San Francisco commuters using 17 gallons more.The top five areas and hours were:New York-Newark, 56Boston, 50Houston, 49Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, 46San Francisco-Oakland, 46
