A 36-year-old man was shot and killed in Long Beach Wednesday, Dec. 20, and police were working to identify a suspect or suspects, authorities said.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of East Pacific Coast Highway, east of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, just before 8:10 p.m. and found the victim with gunshot wounds to the upper body, police said.
Officers provided medical aid until paramedics arrived, police said. The man, identified by police as Korey Brown of Long Beach, died at a hospital.
Investigators learned Brown was shot after he was approached by an unknown number of suspects, who ran off before officers arrived, police said.
Further information on motive and circumstances was not known.
