Lay down on a grass covered couch or walk on a purple basil carpet at the Sherman Gardens
By Orange County on August 2, 2021
Laying in the grass and staring at the sky takes on new meaning in the Sherman Library and Gardens’ latest exhibit.
Seven installations throughout the gardens combine everyday rooms with plants. Meaning visitors can sit in a grass-upholstered sofa or a wing-backed succulent armchair.
Or they can sit at the head of the table in The Formal Dining Room, complete with an edible centerpiece (please don’t, though) and purple basil carpet.
Room themes include The Music Chamber, The Bedroom and The Parlor.
“Our Summer greenHouse exhibit is a photo-op for everyone,” Eddie DiRuscio, facility and maintenance manager who was instrumental in building the exhibit, said.
“If a picture is worth a thousand words, adding the background of beautiful flowering plants and our whimsical garden furniture displays,” he said, “we say your picture will be worth a million words,”
The interactive greenHOUSE exhibit runs through Sept. 12. More information can be found at thesherman.org.
