Girl, 8, injured by bullet that pierces her Anaheim home

An 8-year-old girl was injured in a shooting Wednesday night, Dec. 16, when a bullet entered her Anaheim home and struck her in the front room, authorities said.

Anaheim police believe the shooting, in the 300 block of East Valencia Avenue at about 11:15 p.m, was gang-related, Sgt. Shane Carringer said.

The girl’s injury was not life threatening, Carringer said.

At least one bullet was fired from outside the home, he said, but it was unclear who the intended target was or whether the shot was fired from a vehicle or by a suspect on foot.
