A 10-year-old horse named Nala was rescued by firefighters in Laguna Niguel after falling into a ditch Monday.
The horse was walking across a bridge around 5:15 p.m. in the area of Nellie Gail Road and Buckboard Lane when she lost her footing and fell into a roughly 4-feet-deep ditch.
Firefighters responded and performed a large animal rescue, with the assistance of a veterinarian, who sedated the horse prior to the rescue, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Thanh Nguyen said in an interview with OC Hawk News.
Nala was hoisted from the hole with technical rescue equipment and after the rescue was seen walking upright, according to a video shared by the Orange County Fire Authority on X.
