Driver sought in hit-and-run that killed woman in Stanton

A 68-year-old woman died at a hospital after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street in Stanton Friday night, March 4, authorities said.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Saturday was asking for the public’s help in locating a small, dark green vehicle and its driver, who did not stop to render aid.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Cerritos Avenue and Dale Street about 8:45 p.m., the Sheriff’s Department said.

The circumstances leading up to the crash were not immediately disclosed, but officials said the woman was walking in a crosswalk when she was hit.

Her identity was not provided by the sheriff’s department, pending notification of her relatives.
