The Creek fire burning from Sylmar to Sunland remained at 70 percent containment and 15,619 acres Saturday morning.
“The numbers are still the same,” said Nathan Judy, fire information officer for the Angeles National Forest on Saturday.
As of Friday evening, the fire, which began Tuesday morning four miles east of Sylmar, had burned 15,619 acres and was 70 percent contained.
There were 2,500 structures threatened while 56 homes and 49 outbuildings were destroyed. Additionally, 45 residences and 25 outbuildings were damaged.
A total of 1,964 fire personnel were battling the blaze, which began on Kagel Canyon Road north of Lake View Terrace.
