With the recent rains, parts of the Santa Ana River are flowing with water, creating the perfect opportunity for photography enthusiasts to take wildlife photos.

A telephoto lens is recommended to get closeup photos of birds and other animals, these were taken while walking about a one mile stretch easily accessible at Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim.

Even if you are not a photographer, there is plenty of wildlife to be seen with the unaided eye, including the great blue herons, one of the largest birds in Orange County.
