27-year-old motorcyclist killed after crash in Fullerton intersection

A 27-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday, Dec. 3, after he was struck by a car at an intersection in Fullerton, police said.

At the time of the crash, the motorcyclist had a green light and was stopped facing westbound on Commonwealth Avenue, waiting to make a southbound turn on State College Boulevard, police said. While the motorcyclist waited for traffic to clear, a Toyota Camry entered the intersection northbound on State College and collided with the man before running off the roadway and hitting a tree.

The man driving the motorcycle sustained “significant” injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he died. Police were called to the crash at 9:54 a.m.

The 86-year-old Camry driver, who had not been arrested or cited as of Saturday evening, suffered moderate injuries. It was unclear whether he had run a red light at the intersection, according to Fullerton Police Capt. Jon Radus.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the crash, which remains under investigation, Radus added.

Police urged anyone with information regarding the crash to contact them at 714-738-6812.
