Woman found dead in Anaheim house after boyfriend calls 911, telling police he killed her

ANAHEIM — A woman was found dead inside a house Wednesday morning, after her boyfriend called police to tell them he thought he had killed her, police said.
The man called 911 at around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 27.
“The resident advised that his girlfriend was inside the residence,” said Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt. “He believed she was deceased and said that he was the one that had taken her life.”
The home is in the 800 block of South Cardiff Street.
A neighbor came out and saw the man, believed to be in his 40s, sitting on the curb and talking on a phone. The man told the neighbor that he had turned the gas line on inside the house.
When firefighters went into the house, they found the woman, also in her 40s, dead inside but the gas line was not on.

Homicide detectives were on scene Wednesday morning and closed off the area in the quiet neighborhood of single-family homes.
The house where the woman was found was cordoned off with red crime scene tape and had a real estate sign stuck into the front lawn.
The man, whose name has not been released, was arrested without incident. Wyatt said there was no threat to the public.
