Someone else doing your laundry for you — now, that’s a great Christmas gift.
Volunteers with Tustin-based organization Operation Warm Wishes showed up bright and early at Good Choice Laundry in Santa Ana to serve pancakes to homeless and low-income families.
As they watched their clothes tumble in washing machines and driers, dozens of guests enjoyed a syrupy breakfast — Gummy Bears and whipped cream toppings optional.
As another treat, children received gifts and adults left with food donations. Many live in motels near the First Street laundromat.
Operation Warm Wishes, founded TyRon Jackson, has hosted the breakfast for seven years.
“I know what it feels like to have plenty on Christmas, but I also know what it feels like to be homeless and in need on Christmas,” Jackson said. “This event helps give hope to those who normally don’t feel it.”
