Traffic stop in Garden Grove leads to officer-involved shooting; no one injured

GARDEN GROVE >> A traffic stop for a vehicle violation led to an officer-involved shooting, but no one was injured and the suspect is in custody, Santa Ana police said.
About 1:43 p.m., Santa Ana police officers conducted a traffic stop at 11521 Salinaz Dr. in the area of Newhope Street south of Trask Avenue in Garden Grove for an unspecified vehicle violation.
As officers approached the car, the officer-involved shooting occurred, police said. It was not immediately clear who fired the shot or shots. Neither police, nor the single occupant of the vehicle were injured.
Police recovered a firearm on scene, said Sgt. Jason Garcia with the Santa Ana Police Department.
