The Yorba Linda campus hosts the Blessing of the Animals annually, and it’s always an amusing scene on the school’s grassy field as all manner of pets mingle with families and staff.
Priests from several of the local parishes walked among the menagerie giving blessings to the eager, and not so eager, pets. In some cases, stuffed animals stood in for the real thing.
The event is always a big one for the school because Oct. 4 is the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals.
