‘Real Housewife’ Shannon Beador sued by ex-boyfriend over alleged $75K loan for facelift

Shannon Storms Beador of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” is being sued by ex-boyfriend John Janssen over an alleged $75,000 loan for a facelift.

Janssen in early 2022 agreed to loan Beador money to pay for the procedure, according to a lawsuit attorneys representing Janssen filed late last month in Orange County Superior Court.

The lawsuit notes that the “ups and downs” of the couple’s dating relationship was documented on “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” But, according to the suit, the television show falsely portrayed Janssen as “financially dependent on” Beador.

Instead, the lawsuit contends, Janssen “had a successful business career” and it was Beador who “turned to Mr. Janssen for financial support.

Beador was paid $40,000 by wire transfer from Janssen on Jan. 24, 2022 and another $35,000 by check on May 30, 2023, according to the lawsuit. Beador “expressed offense” when Janssen asked her to sign a promissory note, the suit states, and Janssen “relented,” deciding to instead trust her to pay him back.

Janssen alleges in the lawsuit that Beador ignored his requests, in both 2023 and 2024, to repay the alleged loan. Along with the $75,000, the suit also seeks accrued interest and attorneys’ fees.

Beador, in a written statement, described feeling “shocked and disappointed” that Janssen sued her.

Janssen declined an offer by Beador to pay what Janssen wanted since it would have required he sign a “mutual non-disparagement agreement,” Beador alleged in her statement. Beador reportedly indicated she made that offer because she wanted to “eliminate the negative emotional components that come with a lawsuit.”

She wrote, “I was hoping that if I met his baseless demand we could at least use this as an opportunity to bring complete closure to this chapter in my life.”

In a reunion show following the 17th season of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” Beador revealed that she had been dumped by Janssen. In an interview with Bravo’s Andy Cohen, Beador said their relationship hadn’t been as rosy as she portrayed it on the show. She said Janssen “would leave and ghost me and he wouldn’t speak to me for days,” but added that “I had never been more in love with anyone in my life than I had with John Janssen.”

Beador drew headlines last year for a Newport Beach DUI arrest while she was driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.24 percent, three times the legal limit. She apparently drove into a building, causing around $24,000 worth of property damage and leaving her with a head wound.

The case ended with Beador pleading no contest to a pair of misdemeanor DUI charges. She received probation and 40 hours of community service. After the plea, Beador said she was grateful no one else had been injured, adding that she “learned so much from my terrible mistake that night.”
