ANAHEIM – A power outage that affected The Orange County Register’s headquarters on Thursday morning, Dec. 28, was expected to last until 10 p.m., a city official said.
The newspaper’s headquarters, since April, are at 2190 S. Towne Centre Place, just south of Angel Stadium. The outage, which started at about 9 a.m., interrupted some of the electrical outlets, the phone system and Internet access. Many reporters and editors were working remotely; the Register’s website and Friday paper won’t be affected.
One other, nearby building was also affected by the outage, caused by a transformer failure.
“There were cables that feed into the transformer … and that’s where the problem is,” said Erin Ryan, a spokeswoman for the city of Anaheim, which has its own utilities branch.
