Police are searching for a 39-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old child in Santa Ana.
The suspect, identified as Nicolas Gonzalez of Santa Ana, assaulted the victim on Nov. 28 in the 500 block of North Mortimer Street, authorities said.
Gonzalez fled from his residence after he was confronted by the child’s family members, according to Santa Ana Police Officer Natalie Garcia.
Garcia said Gonzalez is suspected of committing multiple sexual assaults against the same child over the past year. An active warrant is out for his arrest on suspicion of several child sexual assault charges.
Gonzalez’s whereabouts remained unknown as of Sunday afternoon. Police ask anyone with information to contact Detective Avila at (714) 245-8379 or AAvila@santa-ana.org.
