The crash happened at about 5:43 p.m. along westbound 1st Street near Centennial Way, Tustin Police Lt. Andrew Birozy said. Todd Hodges, 52, was struck and taken to Orange County Global Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:06 p.m., Orange County Coroner’s officials said.
They hadn’t confirmed Monday afternoon what city Hodges lived in.
The driver of the involved vehicle was “slightly injured,” and waited for authorities to respond to the collision, Birozy said. Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
Hodges was not in a crosswalk at the time he was struck, Birozy said. It was not immediately clear why he might have been in the street.
