Major Orange County freeway closures planned: Aug. 1-7

Here are major construction project closures happening on Orange County’s freeways and toll roads between Aug. 1 and Aug. 7, according to the Orange County Transportation Authority, Caltrans and the Transportation Corridor Agencies.

5 Freeway

Southbound moving lane closure from Bake Parkway to Cristianitos Road:

  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5

133 Toll Road

Southbound connector to the 5 Freeway:

  • 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, to 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2

Southbound off-ramp to Barranca Parkway:

  • 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, to 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2

405 Freeway

Southbound between Bolsa Avenue and Beach Boulevard:

  • Weeknights until Aug. 4

Southbound loop off-ramp to northbound Beach Boulevard:

  • Will permanently close in mid-August

Northbound loop on-ramp from northbound Beach Boulevard and northbound off-ramp to northbound Beach Boulevard:

  • Scheduled to reopen in mid-August

Northbound between Euclid Street and Brookhurst Street:

  • 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. weeknights through Friday, Aug. 7

Northbound loop off-ramp to Westminster Boulevard:

  • Expected to reopen in April

Northbound loop on-ramp from Goldenwest Street:

  • Scheduled to reopen on Friday, Oct. 2

Ortega Highway

Eastbound lane closure between post miles 9.6 and 10.2. A flagging operation will be in place to allow vehicles through while the work is performed:

  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6

Westbound lane closure between post miles 11 and 10.5. A flagging operation will be in place to allow vehicles through while the work is performed:

  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7

OC Streetcar

Detours, temporary lane closures and parking restrictions are expected daily on Fairview Street, 5th Street, Harbor Boulevard, West Santa Ana Boulevard, Broadway, East Santa Ana Boulevard, French Street, Minter Street, Garfield Street and Santiago Street.
