Laguna Beach authorities on Wednesday arrested a suspect in the death of a San Clemente woman that sent ripples through the community, the Police Department announced.
Laguna Beach detectives, as well as officers from the Newport Beach Police Department and the Anaheim Police Department, arrested 26-year-old Dino Rojas-Moreno in Laguna Hills on suspicion of murder.
It’s unclear where Rojas-Moreno is from or if he had any prior connection to the victim, Tatum Goodwin.
Rojas-Moreno was being held on $1 million bail.
Goodwin, a 27-year-old from San Clemente, worked at a local restaurant. Her body was found behind a building on Sunday. A group of community members gathered Wednesday evening, Nov. 15, in San Clemente for a vigil to honor Goodwin’s life.
“This arrest was the result of outstanding police work by our Investigations team that worked tirelessly with our law enforcement partners to bring justice to Tatum Goodwin and her family,” Laguna Beach Police Chief Jeff Calvert said in a statement.
