Irvine man dies in solo-vehicle crash in Tustin

An Irvine man who was the sole occupant of a car that struck a guardrail in Tustin died Sunday, May 9.

Police were notified of a crash along Moffett Drive, beneath the Jamboree Road underpass, at about 11:50 a.m., Tustin police said in a news release. Responding officers found a 67-year-old man unresponsive inside a vehicle with major front-end damage.

Paramedics declared the driver dead at the scene of the crash, police said. His identity was withheld  pending the notification of relatives.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. The cause of the crash was under investigation. Further information was not immediately released.
