Detectives were investigating a shooting after a man was found wounded by gunfire inside a car Thursday night, March 1, Garden Grove police said.
At about 7:20 p.m. there were reports of shots fired and officers found the wounded man in the driver’s seat of a vehicle on Buena Street and Sunswept Avenue, said Lt. Carl Whitney.
“He’s got pretty significant injuries,” Whitney said of the victim who was taken to an area hospital. Details about the man or what led to the shooting were not immediately available.
It’s unclear if a suspect was in custody or if investigators were searching for any, but the scene was expected to be shuttered for the next few hours. Police advised the public to avoid the area.
