A Garden Grove man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Westminster Saturday morning, Dec. 23, and police are searching for the car and its driver, authorities said.
Officers were called to Bishop Place west of Brookhurst Street just before 4:45 a.m. and found the man, 36, in the street with injuries consistent with being hit by a car, Cmdr. Kevin MacCormick said.
Police also found a witness who said the man was struck by a dark-colored sedan whose driver immediately drove off westbound on Bishop Place at Belgrade Street, MacCormick said. Detectives were in the area canvassing for surveillance video and additional witnesses. The victim was struck near an apartment complex and a fenced-off open field.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, MacCormick said. He was not identified by police pending notification of his relatives.
