Fullerton police confiscate loaded handgun from driver during routine traffic stop

FULLERTON – Officers confiscated a .22 caliber Beretta handgun during a routine traffic stop in Fullerton from a motorist who had been previously arrested for the same offense, police said Sunday, Aug. 26.
Officers pulled over a black GMC Denali at 7:05 p.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue for vehicle code violations, the Fullerton Police Department reported.
Officers searched the vehicle and found the loaded .22 caliber Berreta handgun concealed inside.
Humberto Santos, 55, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, according to a Fullerton Police Department desk officer.
It was not known when Santos was previously arrested for the similar offense, the desk officer said.
