A driver was arrested early Tuesday after fatally hitting a bicyclist in Huntington Beach then fleeing, police said.
Officers responded to the site of the approximately 12:25 a.m. crash at Beach Boulevard and Sunrise Drive and found a male bicyclist in the road, who paramedics pronounced dead, Huntington Beach Sgt. Joshua Page said.
Shortly after, police found the suspected vehicle and driver, who was arrested for fleeing the crash scene. Police did not immediately release the identities of those in the crash or details about how they found the driver.
Police asked that anyone who witnessed the crash call traffic investigator Doug Demetre at 714-536-5670.
