Monday marked the sixth day of nationwide unrest over the death of 46-year-old George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody.
Protesters in many cities and communities in Southern California, including Van Nuys, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Santa Monica, West Covina, Walnut, Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Riverside and Corona gathered on Monday, June 1, in a call for justice for the killing of George Floyd.
Curfews by cities and counties were put in place in an attempt to stop the violence and looting that has taken place the last few nights when the sun has gone down. After the curfew, authorities were able to declare the protests unlawful assemblies and those who did not disperse faced arrest.
