At National Women’s Political Caucus, She Advocates for Women’s Rights

As president of the National Women’s Political Caucus of Orange County, Tustin resident Sherri Loveland advocates for women’s rights and political involvement.

“I hope that through our work, we can finally ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and get to the point where 50 percent of our elected officials are women.”

“There are certain things that women (candidates) are told or asked that men aren’t, like how they manage to run when they have children at home.”

“I admire (California Rep.) Jackie Speier, who hosts workshops that help low-income women train for better jobs.”

“Showing up at city council and school board meetings is so important. It’s effective to bring in the troops and have 50 to 75 people at one meeting to voice your concerns.”

“I feel that however small my role may be, I’m helping to advance women’s rights. It’s 2018; we should already have all the rights we’re fighting for!”
