HUNTINGTON BEACH — A 74-year-old woman was killed after a pickup truck hit her as she was walking or jogging the afternoon of Saturday, Feb. 17, officials said.
The collision occurred near the intersection of Seapoint Street and Summit Drive, according to a statement released by the Huntington Beach Police Department. Officials say, based on preliminary investigation, a GMC Sierra pickup truck made a northbound turn on Seapoint Street from Summit Drive, striking the woman, who was walking or jogging on Seapoint.
The injured woman was transported to UCI Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and was cooperative, officials said. No arrests were reported. The woman’s name has not been released.
The department’s Major Incident Response Team is investigating the incident. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact Huntington Beach police investigators at 714-536-5670 or 714-536-5666.
