Woman injured during hit-and-run crash with stolen vehicle in Garden Grove

A 23-year-old woman suffered serious head injuries Friday in a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen vehicle in Garden Grove, police said.

At around 11 a.m., the driver of a gold Toyota traveling northbound on Magnolia Street didn’t stop at a red light at Stanford Avenue, then slammed into an SUV, police said.

Two men and the woman, a passenger, were witnessed fleeing the Toyota and the scene, police said, and the woman was found in a nearby neighborhood.

She was taken to the hospital for her head injuries.

The driver of the SUV had minor injuries from the crash but was treated at the scene, police said, and a passenger in the vehicle was not injured. The driver of the SUV was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said.

Investigators learned that the Toyota was stolen from Anaheim earlier that day.
