Victorville man arrested in kidnapping of woman from Santa Ana hotel

A 35-year-old Victorville man was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 29 on suspicion of kidnapping a woman at gunpoint last week from a Santa Ana hotel, police announced.

Santa Ana police said Wednesday that on Dec. 21, a young woman reported that her friend  – also a young woman – had been kidnapped from their La Quinta Inn & Suites room, said Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

The suspect, later identified as Adrian Alloway, held a gun to the victim and forced her to leave the hotel, at 2721 Hotel Terrace, with him.

About a day later, the victim escaped from the suspect and went to the sheriff’s station in Victorville, which is also the suspect’s hometown, Bertagna said.

There, the victim cooperated with Santa Ana detectives in the investigation. Detectives used hotel surveillance footage and information from the victim and a witness to identify Alloway as the suspect.

On Tuesday, he was tracked down in Victorville and arrested. He was found in possession of a semiautomatic handgun.

He was booked on suspicion of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Jail records show he was being held without bail.
