Investigators with the LAPD served a search warrant at Dahl’s house and several other locations in Torrance after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children notified LAPD that child pornography was uploaded using a social media platform and investigators identified Dahl, a news release from LAPD said.

Evidence was seized from Dahl’s residence and he was arrested at the Torrance Police Department.

“The City of Torrance and its Police Department are aware of the troubling allegations leading to Evan Dahl’s arrest,” said a news release from the Torrance Police Department sent out late Friday night.

Dahl was a police officer with the Torrance department at the time of his arrest, according to the LAPD. Torrance has since fired him. He was released with a citation from jail on Friday afternoon, inmate records show.

He is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles Municipal Court on June 3.

The LAPD, which is handling the ongoing investigation, is seeking any additional victims.
