A man suspected of fatally shooting his neighbor during an argument at a mobile home park turned himself in to Santa Ana Police, Police said Sunday, March 28.
Witnesses said Alfonso Jasso, 36, shot Jose Luis Solis, 45, with a handgun, during a “neighbor dispute” Friday, March 26, on the 3100 block of West 1st Street, Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said. Officers were summoned, and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
Paramedics responded, but Solis died before he could be taken to a hospital, police said in a Sunday news release. Meanwhile, Jasso drove to the police station to surrender, and was booked on suspicion of homicide without further incident Friday evening.
Detectives obtained warrants to search Jasso’s home and vehicle, and found a gun that may have been used in the shooting. The cause of the argument that led up to the killing and further information were not immediately released.
