Firefighters have been able to halt the spread of the Blue Ridge fire and made slight gains on containment, locking down on 30% of the perimeter by Thursday morning, Oct. 29.
Like the Silverado fire, the Blue Ridge did not grow overnight and was holding at 14,334 acres, the Orange County Fire Authority said.
Most of the evacuations in both fire footprints were lifted by Wednesday night, though there were still large teams of fire personnel battling the three-day blazes.

The Blue Ridge fire, burning mostly in Yorba Linda, damaged seven homes and destroyed one. But no injuries have been reported.
It started at around 1 p.m. Monday as the powerful winds pushed flames across vegetation and two smaller blazes merged as one. Once the winds died down in the following days, firefighters got a better handle on slowing the spread of the flames.
No information has been released yet as to what could have started the fire.
