Son of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar arrested in San Clemente on suspicion of stabbing neighbor

The son of basketball and Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was arrested this week on suspicion of stabbing his neighbor in San Clemente during a dispute, Orange County Sheriff’s officials said Friday.

Adam Abdul-Jabbar, 28, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on Tuesday, June 9, said department spokeswoman Carrie Braun. He was released that day after posting a $25,000 bail, Braun said.

It was around 10 p.m. when deputies were called to the 300 block of Calle Guaymas.

“Apparently some neighbor dispute had occurred,” Braun said.

“(The victim) had actually self-transported to the hospital.” The man had multiple injuries but none were considered life-threatening and he was expected to survive.

Deputies took Abdul-Jabbar, who was cooperative, into custody. Braun did not give details about what the dispute was about or what type of weapon was used in the assault.

Authorities were not going to be released a booking photo, Braun said.

Adam Abdul-Jabbar appeared on “Celebrity Family Feud” with his father in 2017, and stands 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds, according to TMZ.
