Most people mosey their way through museums, zoos and the like — but that wasn’t the case at the Aquarium of the Pacific on Saturday morning, Oct. 8.

The Aquarium of the Pacific 5K Run/Walk, a prelude to Sunday’s Long Beach Marathon, boasted more than 2,000 jogging or strolling along a scenic route — including through the popular aquarium.

The route took participants through Rainbow Harbor, over Queensway Bridge, across Catalina Landing and around the Long Beach aquarium.

The runners and walkers also went through the aquarium, passing by various exhibits.

Participants received a T-shirt, a finisher’s medal and reduced-price admission to the aquarium.

It wasn’t clear, though, if they were cheered on by the fish, otters and other marine life at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
