Procession for LA County firefighter felled by gunfire begins in early hours

A procession of firefighters and law enforcement officers accompanied the body of a Los Angeles County firefighter on its way to the coroner’s office in the early hours of Wednesday, June 2, 2021, the day after he was gunned down — allegedly by another firefighter — at Station 81 in Agua Dulce.

The procession began about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, said a photographer at the scene, and made its way south on the 14 Freeway before heading to downtown Los Angeles.

Firefighters paid tribute to their fallen comrade from freeway overpasses, with the ladders from their trucks extended, as the procession passed. Helicopters and police and fire vehicles accompanied the vehicle carrying the firefighter’s body.
