Powerball jackpot expected to reach $1 billion after no ticket matched all 6 numbers

No tickets matched all six numbers in the Saturday night, Oct. 29, drawing of the Powerball lottery, which means the estimated jackpot is expected to grow to $1 billion.

The numbers drawn Saturday were 19, 31, 40, 46, 57,and the Powerball number was 23. The jackpot was $825 million.

A ticket with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, was sold in Florida and is worth $2 million because the Power Play option was used.

There were four other tickets sold with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, but without the Power Play option. They were sold in California, Maryland, Michigan and Texas, the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, announced. They are each worth $1 million.

The drawing was the 37th since a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in about 293 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.87.

The Powerball game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
