Pedestrian, 71, killed while crossing Garden Grove street

GARDEN GROVE >> A 71-year-old pedestrian crossing a street Friday night, Dec. 8 was killed when he was hit by an Infiniti.
The crash was reported at 5:56 p.m. in a southbound lane of Brookhurst Street just north of Bixby Avenue,  said Sergeant P. Gildea.
The man, crossing eastbound in an area not marked by a crosswalk, was struck by a blue 2004 Infiniti G35 driven by a 22-year-old man, Gildea said. The pedestrian died at the scene.
The driver of the Infiniti remained at the scene and cooperated with traffic investigators. It did not appear that alcohol or drugs were involved, Gildea said.
The investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses are asked to contact the Garden Grove Police Department’s Traffic Accident Investigation Unit at 714-741-5823.
