Police were searching for a person of interest following a stabbing in Fountain Valley on Sunday, Aug. 26.
Authorities say officers responding to a call discovered a man in his 40s suffering from multiple stab wounds near the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Edinger Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. He was transferred to the care of a local hospital, according to a spokesman for the Fountain Valley Police Department.

Officers were searching the area for a person of interest, but were unable to give a description of that individual, according to the spokesman. Information wasn’t immediately available regarding the specific circumstances of the stabbing, the severity of the victim’s injuries and the victim’s identity.
