A man in a security-guard uniform was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver at Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue in Anaheim Wednesday morning, Jan. 6, and the driver was in custody, authorities said.
Anaheim police responded to the intersection at about 1:15 a.m., where officers found the victim down in a marked crosswalk and the suspect’s vehicle, a white Astro van, a short distance away, crashed head-on into a palm tree.
The suspect, who was not immediately publicly identified, was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The age and name of the victim, as well as where he worked, were not immediately available.
