COSTA MESA – A 24-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 28, after he directed police to a woman’s body found in the brush at Talbert Regional Park with signs of blunt-force trauma.
Dispatchers received a 7:10 a.m. call from a man saying he had found the body. Officers and detectives arrived at the park, at 1299 Victoria St., and found the caller, whom they identified as Daniel Correa, Costa Mesa police said in a statement. Police described him as a transient who used to live in Santa Ana.
The woman was 29 years old, a transient from Massachusetts.
“After a preliminary field investigation, police arrested Correa on suspicion of murder,” Costa Mesa police said.
