Magnitude-3.0 earthquake hits Riverside

RIVERSIDE — An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 struck in Riverside early Thursday morning, but there were no immediate reports of injury or damage.

The quake struck at 3:03 a.m at a depth of about 2 1/2 miles and was centered near Challen Park, close to the intersection of California Avenue and Van Buren Boulevard, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Authorities did not immediately report any damage or injuries.
