Lindsey Buckingham has sold his La Quinta golf retreat for $6.6 million.

The 73-year-old singer, best known as the lead guitarist and co-vocalist of Fleetwood Mac, got the price he sought when his custom residence in the luxury community of the Hideway hit the market in April. That amounts to 77% more than the $3.73 million he and his wife, Kristen, paid in August 2020, records show.

“The seller is happy, and the buyers are very excited,” said Valery Neuman of Compass, who handled both ends of the deal. “The whole family is in love with the home!”

Completed in 2014, the house spans 5,456 square feet on a lot just shy of a half-acre and overlooks the 5th hole of the course designed by Pete Dye. It has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and an open floor plan with disappearing glass walls in the common areas that extend indoors out.

A double-glass door opens into the walled-in entry courtyard with a custom fountain, lounge area and loggia with a flatscreen mounted over the fireplace. There’s a similar setup inside the house, in the great room.

There’s a Calcutta marble-clad gourmet kitchen with two islands, top-of-the-line stainless appliances and a walk-in pantry.

A fireplace anchors the formal dining room and glass-enclosed wine room.

The primary suite has high ceilings with wraparound clerestory windows. A picture window and glass doors frame views the pool, golf course and mountains from the bedroom, sitting area and bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-through shower.

A casita sits off the front courtyard.

Outside, a dining and lounging loggia and a second entertainment loggia overlook the pool with its waterfall wall and zero-edge spa. Other amenities include a barbecue center and a fire pit seating area.
